We arrived at Philip Island just in time to see the local fishermans cooperative feed the Pelicans. Over twenty Pelicans flew in about fifteen minutes before the fish was bought down to the beach - they know a good thing when they see it! It was a great thing to see as these birds really are massive, so graceful in flight. Our Christmas friends had recommended that rather than drive around the coast to Melbourne we should take the Queenscliffe to Sorrento ferry which would save us a 200km drive. Numerous people had recommended that we stop at Kennett River campsite. The site is set amongst eucalyptus trees and the Koala's are just a feet above your head living in the trees. For company they have some parrots who are either a very vivid shade of green and red or a lovely blue and red. Along this stretch of the Great Ocean Road the scenery is stunning, Limestone cliffs are moulded by the wind rain and sea, making some incredible shapes. We stop every few miles to take in the views from the scenic lookouts.
