We moved on to Dunedin today, a trip of 200k which took about four hours including a lunch stop. We passed through the Garden County of New Zealand and couldn't resist stopping at one of the many pick your own orchards - now what can we do with 3lbs of cherries? We may have got a little carried away there!
Dunedin is a lovely city and we finally managed to pick up a New Zealand rugby shirt for Dave, (if you can't beat them join them). We also booked seats on the Taieri Gorge Railway for tomorrow which is described as one of the great railway journeys of the world.
Rather than staying in the city for the night we made our way out to the Otago Peninsula about 14k away. This is an absolutely stunning area and once again the camera was out at every bend. The seas are a deep Aqua-marine blue - just breath taking.
Although the day had been fine and sunny the temperature fell sharply at night and for the first time the electric fan heater came out of the cupboard.
