Dear friends and family
The story about the inca and Machu Picchu, a perfect life.
To get to Machu Picchu you have to go all the way to Cuscu in Peru, home of the old Incas. From here you able to decide which way you wanna go there, believe me when I say there is alot of defferent options, train, bus, bike, walk etc. The most known is the Inca trail 4 days of walking, also the most expensive 400 dollars and up! We took after own opinion the best option, going by train Inca/Peru railway 170 dollars extra is intrance to Machu Picchu 25 dollars.
Before we went to Machu Picchu we stayed 2 nights at the best hostel so far! (Pariwana hostel) extremly clean, good food and awesome staff. We had a night bus the day before and we came 5 in the morning, tired and exhausted. The staff at the hostel was so cool, they let us in and provided some hot tea and got us a key for the tv-room so we were able to get some sleep, when we got up around 10.00 they gave us a free breakfast, tea and coffee, without a doubt the best hostel in south america. When explore the sorounddings at the hostel and went to a hugh market called San Pedro market. They sold cloth, juices, food and was a slaugtery at the same time, smelled like s*** there, didnt even dare to buy a souvinir, cause everytime it would remind me of the smell! At night we played fussball with some awesome people from Chile and they became really good friends. At Nnighttime we had a few beers a little party and great fun in a place called Temple.
The second day in Cusco we walked around to find the best option for Machu Picchu, we decided to book our self, than through an agency, cause it would be cheaper to do it our self. As earlier described we choosed the train for 170 dollars and entrance 25 dollars. Then again we walked around the city, looking at fake northface clothes didnt buy any, but my friend got a massage in somekind of a little backyard room, seemed like a "dirty place". Had an early night cause we had to catch the bus at 7.00
Machu Picchu
We got a taxi 6:30 in the morning to the busstation, were we took a bus 2 hours from the busstation to the railway, waited a half an hour and took the train for 2 hours. The railway was perfect, windows in the celling so you watch all the rocks above you head, quite scary and cant be safe! But beutifull! We finally got to the city Aguas Calientes which is were the trail for the Machu Picchu begins. We found a hostel, (not clean and filled with spiders) so we were able to get to Machu Picchu in the morning, to have perfect weather. When you go to Mach Picchu you have to buy the tickets in advance, cause there is no ticket sale at the top, you have to walk down or take a bus (20 dollars). In the evening we eat at a fancy restuarant, 3 curse dinner perfect to safe up some power for the walk.
Next morning we got up early and decided to walked up the mountain to Machu Picchu, it turned out to be a good exercise, 2 hours of stairs in "rainforest" never though my t-shirt would be dry again. We finally got to the top relaxed for 5 minutes and got in. In the line there was an American who didnt buy the ticket in the city as he supposed to, even though there is signs everywhere telling him to, so he started yelling at the staff and demanded to talked to the boss, unfortunaly for him, he was sent back, what an idiot.!!! When we got in it was so perfect, so betifull, the view was unique. So happy I been there and experienced this, I wondered who got the idea to buildt the city up there, most have been so hard, and stair everywhere, people must have been fit. Llamas walking around the old fields, the fields is the big long squares, with the edge you seen at the picture. The farmers coundnt be afraid of hights thats a fact. After some good hours we went down to Aguas Calientes and took the train back. After the train we took a cap back to Cusco WORST cap ever, they drive like idiots in Peru, the car in front of us, was 2 seconds from crashing in to 3 other cars, seemed like the literally didnt care, using both lanes in a 1 laned road, taking the curves with 90 km/h almost on two wheals! Glad to survive! We got back and meet up with our friends from the US.
Then ew had 3 nights in Cusco where we had some party meet alot of cool people. relaxed watch some movies, eating at some good places, atendeed a fun birthday party for our Chilian friend and saw the city. Actually we meet 2 danes who I have mutual friends with in Denmark. The world is becomming a small place, the danes called Helene and Freja and Mutual friends is Maria and Nadia, the daughters of my moms old boyfriend! The last day we attended a tablesoccer competion, have to be 2 and 2 me and Freja teamed up and won it all :) True winners won everygame by many goals.
Conclusion: Go experience Machu Picchu stay in the hostel called Pariwana and deffently attend the tablesoccer tournement.
