We arrived in Edith Falls in the Nitmiluk National Park early in the morning. It was already over 30 degrees and we were looking to have a swim. Located within Nitmiluk National Park, Edith falls are made up of a number of falls and rock pools. They are popular and sought for their beauty, with scenic views around the Edith River. The rock pools allow for a refreshing swim when taking one of the various walking tracks which traverse up the falls. Swimming is the most popular activity at these serene falls along with bushwalking, picnicking and relaxing. Near the park is the lower pool which is more like a lake. The kids put on their ski suits and we swam right across the lake and under the large flowing waterfall. It was an awesome experience for everyone! The upper pool is even more spectacular, just look at the photos. It is a 3km hike and the kids did a great job to get to it. However I did carry Charlie most of the way back to camp. The camping area has recently undergone an upgrade. We were lucky because we had a great grassy spot to set up at. The park has toilets, showers and barbeques, definitely worth the $25.00 a night for families. The only downside is no generators are allowed and there is no power. So the nights can be muggy and hard to sleep. We spent two great days and nights here. So much exploring and swimming to do with the kids, highly recommend to everybody.
