An early morning soak in the bore baths was great. It was zero degrees outside and 37 degrees in the water. After packing up we headed east toward Narrabri. We stopped for lunch at a spot west of Narrabri called Sawn Rocks. Felicity was very excited as her class skyped her for a chat. After this we went for a walk to check out the amazing rock features. They looked like flutes from a massive church organ. Some flute like rock peices had fallen to the creek below. We were suprised how smooth these large peices of rock were. After our walk we headed off toward Inverell. We filled the water tanks in the caravan at Inverell and headed 17km out of town to stay at a small caravan park on the edge of the Copeton Dam. The Copeton Dam is a man made dam that is three times the size of Sydney harbour. Originally built to prvide water for local cotton farmers and still used for that purpose. It is home to many water sports including water skiing. The dam is also a popular fishing haven for the fishing enthusiast. The park we re staying in is great. Small and private. Hosts Tom & Donna have been great. They brought us over wood and a fire bucket so we could sit outside and watch the sun tranquily set over the water.
