On 31st we flew into Sydney, which we were very excited about as tonight we got to see Johnny, Emma and Lucy (from our Kiwi bus in NZ), aswell as Tom & Ted! Funny how we keep being in the same place as our buddies!
Johnny had booked to stay in the same hostel as us, so we went to find him first, then had planned to meet the others at a bar a bit later. Me and Lowri went for a yummy pizza and glass of wine (of course) in the trendy bar next to our hostel and Johnny met us there shortly after for a drink and a catch up. We then left to go and meet the others in the Haymarket Hotel then ended up in a bar called Side Bar for some dancing.
The next morning me and Low went and caught the ferry over to Manly Beach, which was a lovely place. We had a not very nice lunch and a lay on the beach before having a little wander around the shops then getting the ferry back. Tonight would be Johnny's last night in Sydney so we'd planned to first go out and meet some of his other friends at their hostel. He even provided us with party hats! We then went to a bar called Trade Centre in Kings Cross for a few farewell beverages, but me and Lowri were pretty tired and didn't manage to stay long.
In the morning me, Low and Johnny went for a walk around City Markets, a huge building filled with millions of market stalls, Chinatown and Darling Harbour where we stopped for a lovely Thai meal before Johnny had to leave us to go catch his flight home.
Me and Lowri walked up towards the Opera House where we met Tom and Ted and we visited the Museum of Modern Art, which had very bizarre pieces, but was pretty cool.
We had decided to get the bus to Coogee beach in the evening and have a BBQ for Low's last night, which was a very fun evening. Her friend Elan from North Wales (but who's living in Sydney) came to meet us after our food too, so we drank wine and played some games, then ended up going into town to Haymarket Hotel and Side Bar again where our new friend Lynda also met us. It was a good night, with some tears shed at the end about Lowri leaving!
In the morning we went to meet Tom & Ted for breakfast, but got lost and it took us about an hour and a half to find them, so we only had an hour together before Low had to leave for the airport so we grabbed a sarnie and sat in the park.
It was time for Lowri to leave, so I went to the airport with her to say goodbye. (I'm sure all my family know by now that I've decided to stay out longer?!)
It was an emotional goodbye after spending over two months together, making so many incredible memories. It's been the best couple months of our lives, and it's a shame it had to come to an end. I miss you travel buddy, but what an awesome 2 months! Xxxx

Mum Perhaps you could write a tourist guide when you get back as you seem to be doing such thorough research - something like 'the Backpackers' Guide to Wine Bars of the Southern Hemisphere'? You certainly seem to be an expert by now!
