Train ride from Manchester to London was awesome.....1st class....think we all don't want to travel any other way now! Our 1st experience on the London tube......we got separated as the doors closed before Ken and Sheena got on...but we all caught up next stop. Our accomodations were just a short walk away in a cool little street with lots if restaurants. It was a little more dated than the pics showed, but still ok. 1st day in London we went to Madame Thussauds...

Made it safely to Manchester. Our accomodations are nice and in what is the Old Fire Station Square". Right across from the university. First night was a little noisy for Sheena and Kevin as they shared a wall with the neighbors. Next day Ken and I went by train to Liverpool. Sheena and Kevin decided to stay in Manchester and tour the city. Liverpool is a lovely city. We went on the Magical Mystery Tour for 2 hours....going to 3 of the Beatles houses, Strawberry ...

Left Edinburgh this morning and hopped train to Manchester....Salford area....which is right by the university. To say our train ride was peaceful, would be completely wrong.....in our cable car were 20 gals on a Hen Party excursion to Liverpool for the weekend. 4 of them sitting right beside us......wasn't too bad until an hour or so passed and you couldn't hear yourself think the more they drank, the louder they got......Ken says it sounded like a bad episode o...

Woke up early today and on our way to climb Arthur's Seat at 7:30. Caught a bus a bit of the way. The climb was something else......man, did we get our exercise today! We got all the way to the top! Views were well worth the climb......it was pretty amazing! Great way to get the blood circulating in the morning. After all this exercise......we were hungry for a big breakfast.....unfortunately...chose the wrong place......the breakfast was BLAH.....and expensive.....

Back in Edinburgh after 40 years! It is such a beautiful city.......but Very busy! There is a LOT of tourists here. First few days has been walking and shopping. Guys did their own thing yesterday and gals did shopping. Restaurant/bars have been brilliant....lots of fun! Have not been night hawks though...in bed fairly early....so we are energized for the next day. Off for tours today to the castle and to Holyrood House.
