Hey All!
Can't believe it's been over a month since my last entry!! Writing this from sunny Perth in Oz and since leaing Koh Tao I've been to Koh Phangan, Koh Phi Phi and travelled through Malaysia!!
After finishing my PADI course instead of heading straight to Koh Phi Phi as planned I ended up staying on Koh Tao for another another week as I loved it so much! Having made quite a few friends on the course we spent the days swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing on the beach before watching the sun set with a Singha Beer then heading to the Lotus Bar and Dry Bar in the evenings which were really cool. Met some really fun people at the Lotus Bar, including 3 swedish girls (Eva, Ida and Erika!) who I became got on really well with and ended up travelling with quite a bit over the past month.
Had the laziest week ever..it was brilliant! Was also nice not to do any long bus journeys etc as felt pretty rough for a couple of days as needed anti biotics to sort out my ears after the diving!!
Kho Tao is really beautiful and had a really nice atmosphere...and really great snorkelling! Also ate some awesome seafood at the King Crab restaurant (at O'Chai/ Crystal bungalows where we stayed). They are starting to do quite a lot of building work on the island as it is now in more demand from tourists since the Tsunami hit the beaches of the West Coast so think I visited it at the right time! It will be a real shame if they try to turn it in to a mini Koh Phangan!
Nothing too exciting to report as it was so relaxing...well apart from being hit in the face by a fireball!!! On the thai beaches you also see people using the 'poy' (or fire chains) which is really cool...until the flaming end of one of the chains flies off, heads towards the crowd and hits you in the face!!! It was a bit of a shock...but hilarious afterwards!...had a small burn and bruise on my forehead to show for it!
Although I had originally planned not to visit Koh Phangan I decided to head there for a few days as quite a few of the people I'd met on Koh Phi Phi were heading that way so thought it would be fun...and it was!...
