I had the dorm to myself last night - it was amazing! The other guys in the room had to move rooms due to a big group arriving this morning, but because I was checking out early to catch the bus, I was able to stay in the room.
I checked out of the hotel at 09:00 and caught the shuttle bus to the bus terminal for my 10:30 bus to Surfers Paradise.
I started talking to the bus driver and sat next to him on the bus and ended up talking to him for an hour an a hlaf, until we got to Surfers. He was such a nice man, he was telling me about what else I could do whilst in Australia. It turns out he if driving the bus tomorrow morning too! (When I leave Surfers to go to Byron Bay for a few nights).
I arrived in Sufers Paradise at midday and was picked up by the hostels shuttle straight away. I met a girl, Cagl, from Israel whilst waiting for the shuttle - she was staying at the same hostel as me, so we dropped our stuff off and walked along the beach into town for lunch.
We walked along the beach for hours and then through town. I bought myself a jumper because its going to be cold in New Zealand next week!
I basically chilled out, topped up my tan and started my scrapbook of my travels. Ive been collecting maps, postcards, leaflets, brochures etc from everything that I have done whilst over here, so Ive put them in a book - its really cool!
Cagl and I met the three other girls that were staying in the dorm - Harmony, Christabelle and Claire from Perth, Australia. They were really nice girls, all 18, I actually felt really old because I was the oldest (Cagl is 20) and they were all talking about school and college.
I walked up to town at 18:00 to catch the sunset and take some pictures. It was beautiful. I must say that it is really confusing to have tall rise buildings along the coast line - you will see what I mean when you see my pictures!
I have to be up early tomorrow because I have to catch the 08:20 bus to Byron Bay. Im booked in for three nights for now, but I may only stay for two. I will see how I feel when I get there.
