G'DAY! from Brisbane.....

Before we left we heard there was really bad floods so we were kind of worried about what we were going to find! I wasnt looking forward to the 38hr train journey...and i was right not to! The first class seats we booked were just ordinary seats but with a little bit more leg room! We headed off at about 8pm...all was well until we suddenly stopped, we were there for about 5 hours just stationary, felt like 1/2 hr because i was asleep. Later found out that because of the floods that night, all of the cows had gone onto the track to escape the water, all the fields were flooded! We had to reverse back to the previous station and wait there...all in all about 7 hours we waited. When we headed off again, we went passed the fields....we saw dead cows floating in the water and other cows tangled up in barbed wire trying to get out! :( very sad! Oh Well! So that was a nice train journey to start our move!

Got to our hostel finally, a place called the yellow submarine! Its quite a cool place...quiet, socialable etc! The walls are covered in previous travellers messages, some going back to late 80's! Amazing eh? Weather is nice too, had a couple of s*** days but other than that its been warm and sunny. We've walked round the city a couple of times now, its a nice city! Been to the botanical gardens etc. Me sand and luda (frenchy) got up at 4am to go watch the champions league final....waste of time!

We all went to Stradbroke Island a couple of days ago. Got the train, then the bus, then the ferry! It was really nice, nice beaches etc. We got to the beach at about 2pm so we didnt have that long; so we decided to stay a night in the hostel and have a full day the next day. Walked up the coast the next day, and we saw dolphins jumping out of the sea! :) Laid on the beach and had a swim, then went back to mainland oz. So was a good weekend in all! And thankfully we got back in time so we could get showered and ready for the fa cup final. We planned to go out with a few lads from the hostel. T'was a good ol game, witnessed one of quickest goals EVER! Saha scored in 26 seconds i think. Finished 2-1 to chelsea. Went to a club, and got back at about 4:30am....

Free bonza barbie yesterday, had steak, mash and cabbage with bacon! MMMMMMM. Free is always good! Then we had a session on rum and coke while playing cards...quality night! At this moment im writing this, sandy is reading his book! (Lick) and alex is sorting out our bus tickets to go down byron bay next week. So will speak to you soonish.....BUZZIN! X
