We arrived in Fiji last evening and were warmly greeted. "Bula" means hello or welcome and you are greeted by this salute by everyone here! The Fijians are very warm and friendly and would do anything to make your visit good. Today we just relaxed and enjoyed the resort. We are staying on Denarau Island and the Denarau Port is a good spot to catch various day cruises to check out some of the islands. There are 333 Fiji Islands and about 100 that are inhabited.
We have experienced some good food today. Lots of tropical fruits and juices and seafood. We tried "young coconut milk" which was served in the coconut with a straw and was slightly sweet and very refreshing. Tonight we had dinner at Nadina an authentic Fijian restaurant recommended by the locals. The weather was in the upper 80's today with quite high humidity but felt very pleasant under the shade of a palm tree. Life is good!
