Today we drove to Auckland and we will fly out to Fiji tomorrow. Randy had a pretty great day as he sailed on one of the America's Cup Sailing boats. It was built in 1995 and was a contender in the America's Cup finals. He had a chance to take a turn on the grinder. (Which is a wench handle to tighten the lines.) He was also one of only two who had an opportunity to have a turn at the helm. There were two of these Grand Prix machines out and the intent was for them to race. Unfortunately our perfect weather didn't last today and it started raining so hard they needed to cut the sail short before the race. He was out for about 2 hours instead of the 3 hours scheduled. He still had a great time and was pretty thrilled to be out on one of these boats.
We finished our day eating at the wharf. Had that last good bowl of seafood chowder before we leave NZ and we had to try the White Bait Fritters.
