Katakolon is a pretty fishing village. There are more trees here and many olive groves. Olympia is located on this island. The first Olympiad was 776 BC. We took a small tourist train around part of the island to see the olive groves and old villages. And of course time for shopping. Today we arrived on the Greek Island of Mykonos. This is another picturesque village with whitewashed cube shaped houses with either red or blue domed churches. There is a tiny church around every corner. The island is also known for it's old windmills. It's a very small island and easy to maneuver through on your own. But beware of motorcycles and tiny trucks on these small village streets! The water is crystal clear and of course beautiful turquoise color...

Today we are in Athens. There was expected unrest in the city due to the German Prime Minister Merkel speaking at Parliament so independent tours were strongly discouraged and many of the ships tours were cancelled as well. Today we are on the picturesque island if Santorini. This island is shaped like a fishhook as a result of a volcanic eruption sometime before 1600 BC. Our ship is anchored in the caldera of the volcano and we were tendered to the island. The cities of Fira and Oia are perched along the volcanic cliffs. Today we are in Naples and went for a boat cruise along the Amalfi Coast which was gorgeous. Beautiful villages line the coast and hillsides. We went to the town of Amalfi where we had some time to shop and enjoy the atmosphere of this Italian town. This area is known for their ceramic tiles and artwork.
