We continued our highway 1 road trip as far as Fort Bragg. We had a surprise today as we were driving along the ocean with the top down and notice the highway looked wet. Suddenly we were hit with a blast of water that was actually the ocean waves crashing into rocks many feet deep. We escaped getting wet inside the car so it was pretty cool. After spending a wonderful Easter with Melissa, Dan, Micah and Sophia we headed back home. We decided to take the southern trek through Idaho going through Boise and heading through western Yellow Stone National Park. After a 6700 mile road trip we arrived home!

We spent two days in Napa Valley. We are staying at "The Old World Inn" B&B which really very nice and comfortable. The breakfasts were fabulous and each evening there was wine tasting. We spent our days driving to some great vineyards and tasted LOTS of wine. Napa Valley is only 26 miles long in the valley and basically most of the vineyards are along one main road. We continued up Highway 1 through San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge. The weather was beautiful and most of this trip up highway 1 we have been able to drive with the top down. Bodega Bay was where we cut across to Sonoma Valley. We are now in wine country! The weather and the valley was beautiful. We stopped at St. Francis and Ledson wineries for tasting.

We had a great day in Monterey spending our time along the 17 mile drive along pebble beach. The day was beautiful as the waves were crashing onto the shore. We stopped often to take pictures and enjoy the view. We got the most photographed spot of the "lone cypress". Probably the highlight of the day was having lunch at "The Lodge".
