Today was another day that scored a 10! Randy thinks it was the best day we have had. We sailed out of Paihai at 10 on a 40 ft boat with two other people and the captain of the boat. He was fine with Randy immediately taking the helm,so Randy was very happy about that. We had another perfect weather day with temps in the 80's. The Bay Of Islands is an absolutely beautiful spot with turquoise water and MANY islands. By noon we were at an island and anchored. We had the huge beach to ourselves. He had 2 kayaks on board so we kayaked around the island which was great because it had caves and very rocky so lots to explore. We did some snorkeling also which wasn't spectacular but we saw fish so it was fun. Our captain made us lunch while we were playing so we ate and took off for more afternoon sailing. We had perfect winds at about 15 knots and 2-3 foot swells. We actually saw 2 little blue penqiuns swimming way out in between the islands.
We were cruising along when we saw the first dolphin and were pretty excited. Then we saw there were about 7 of them that swam and played next to us and under the boat. We had them that close for about 20 minutes. They literally jumped completely out of the water as they played.
We are tired tonight but what a great day!
