We spent our day in Oamaru. There are beautiful gardens and lots of history. Buildings made of "Oamaru" white stone. The restaurants are less expensive than AU. They have very good seafood and specialize in Blue Cod here.
This evening we went to see yellow eyed penqiuns on the beach and only saw about 6 and were kept at a distance. Then at sunset we went to see the "Little Blues". They are less than a foot tall and come into shore for
the night. We saw lots of these and were able view them as they settled for the night with lots of playing and fighting going on. They were very loud with their chatter.
