After another week of classes, one thing is certain. College life is hectic & swamped with papers. I'm required to write papers for all of my classes, on a weekly basis at that! We're used to having to hand in one final product or do an exam at the end of the term, in the Netherlands, but in America there's a constant workload that has to be carried throughout the semester. I'm talking about papers, essays, group projects, mid-terms, finals etc. And since I'm taking 5 courses instead of the usual 3, I'm even more stressed out by all of the work I have to do. Anyways, besides the workload, I really feel at home here. I have made many friends already. I've made friends with students from Brazil, Serbia, France, Germany, Japan, Honduras, Pakistan and the list goes on. I live on one of the two international floors in the Hewlett dorm tower (the 9th floor to be exact).
Another thing I've been battling that I'm not used to is the freezing cold here. At one point I experienced -17 degrees Celcius. Casually walking outside is not an option, I'm running from place to place to get out of the cold. It's insane but very beautiful at the same time.
Ok, I'm off to buy another pair of long johns & some thermal underwear.
Byeeee!
