The International students House at ISU organizes an Orientation week to welcome all of the new international students that have come to study at ISU. Orientation week is held the week before the start of semester.
The first day is when we all got our paperwork together, received our keys for our dorms, got all of our visas and other necesarry documentation in order etc. After you're done, you will be shown to your room with the help of an RA (Resident Advisor). They will do a full check up of your room and show you all of the amenities available to the students.
After dumping my luggage and belongings in my room, I went down to the main lobby to go on a general tour of the schoolgrounds.
Later that night we were all piled into various schoolbuses and went to Walmart to buy bedding, linnen, pillows and other necessities to start decorating our room.
The rest of the week was filled with different tours to the Student Housing department, Finance department, we were shown the most important schoolbuildings, a glimpse of the city, an ice skating trip and finally a Back to School party at the end to start off the semester.
