We didn't have to wait at the accommodation for too long until the mini bus arrived, though never on time! We didn't know what was going to pick us up and a little mini bus turned up to pick us up and another couple from our hotel. We both went to the toilet as many times as possible before getting on!
The driver and guide didn't give a s*** at all and they were ramming us in where they could with the bags piled around us! We were really hoping this wasn't what the whole journey was going to be like! The bus had the company name Nam Phuang on the side, which is the company we used last time for the overnight bus from Ho Chi Minh to Nha Trang. It was either that company of Phuang Nam. One was suppose to be okay to use and one was suppose to be avoided. We were starting to think we were going to be with the ones to be avoided!!
When we got to the companies office the bus was waiting and it looked exactly the same as the last bus and it had a toilet so we figured it's the same company. Either way I didn't give a s*** because it had a toilet! Hallelujah!! After all the worrying and bad mood all day today too! The women who checked our tickets and seats weren't too helpful mind and didn't have a clue what they were doing. Local people had already got on and sat wherever they fancied, which we already heard they do so weren't surprised when someone was in one of our seats pretending to be asleep. Instead of moving the people in wrong seats, the staff just start moving around the people who have seat numbers and it all gets confusing with people arguing they aren't in the right seats. Luckily there was another bed next to one of our booked seats so I just sat there. Wouldn't have gone down well if we were split up!
The bus went pretty much the same as the last. We tried to have a nap early on and Nath fell asleep about 8.15pm. We then just kept dosing and waking, but got quite a bit of sleep. The drive was pretty rough though and we were bumping around everywhere. At parts out bellies kept going like we were on a ride! It was pretty dangerous to be honest!
We stopped about half 11 for a break for toilet and food. We attempted the toilets and I thought I was going to be sick. I thought I was used to the toilets by now but that was disgusting by anybody's standards! I was used to peeing in a hole in the ground and not having a flush so we have to pour water down the toilet from a tap, but this stunk so bad I nearly threw up! We had already bought sandwiches before getting on the bus so we just ate them instead of getting something to order and then tried to get some more sleep on the roller coaster! I can at least say that every trip has been surprising and eventual so far! I am no longer surprised by health and safety standards and appreciate what we have in place at home!
