It's my birthdayyyyy!!! And what a beautiful place to spend it in!
We decided to make the day a really chilled one so the day before we booked a couples relax package at the hotel's spa. Mark has never done anything like this before so I was a bit anxious about whether he'll enjoy it or just moan all the way through. He doesn't read this blog as he lives it so won't know I've said that despite it being true.
To start the pamper package we had 30 minutes in the jacuzzi and sauna which was lovely! And Mark liked it!! Yay.
After our soak we had a foot rub each (I have ticklish feet so I tried really hard not to laugh), a full body massage, facial and scrub. It was nice that these happened in the same room as each other so we could enjoy it together. The full body massage was really that, full body!! I thought after doing my arms, legs, back and head that we were done but then the masseuse went on to massage my belly. A little weird and not really necessary haha.
The scrub was a little rough, it felt like she was rubbing sand all over me and in doing so scraping my skin off. I hate sand being on my body hence why I avoid it at beaches so the shower afterwards was amazing!
After our massage we went back into the room and saw the sun was nearly setting so we went out for a walk. We headed down a road with piles of earth down the side but then spotted a tiny little beach so went over.
I think you know what's coming next...
All day Mark had been saying how sorry he was that he hadn't got me a present but I wasn't bothered as no one had haha. But then he admitted that he had been lying and he did get me something so told me to put my hands together and shut my eyes.
I opened my eyes and there he was on one knee with a ring in a box saying "will you marry me?" My heart is racing just typing this. Of course I said yes!!!
For the rest of the day, I had the biggest smile on my face! I must have looked so weird constantly grinning haha. So so happy.
For my birthday tea we went to the hotel's Japanese restaurant which was delicious and then up to the skybar for cocktails where we shared our exciting news to the world, well those who didn't already know.
