We woke up and left the oven that was our room to find it was cooler outside in the 28 degree heat! The haze was still lingering so we chilled out reading books and playing candy crush which we have become addicted to due to all the long journeys.
We considered walking to a beach 20 minutes away but didn't want to be disappointed by it being hazy so instead we went to a travel agents and hired a scooter for the afternoon so we could explore further afield. It was £3 for 5 hours and the scooter was handed over to us without even checking we could drive! Crazy.
I wouldn't have hired a scooter anywhere else but Koh Lanta as Thai roads are insane. On Koh Lanta there is only one road the runs round the whole of the island so we weren't likely to get lost and the roads were very quiet so no crazy motorists to contend with.
Mark drove and I hopped on the back. It was really nice to explore on our own without a tour guide and bus full of other tourists. We stopped off at a couple of beaches but these were covered in litter, we think from the tsunami. After a drive round we headed back to the hostel and gave the scooter back.
As we are heading to Malaysia tomorrow we went out for some Thai food with it being our last night in Thailand it'd be rude not to. Plus my stomach was much better now.
Since I loved my massage the night before, Mark wanted one so I read my book whilst he got pampered. We had to be up early the next day so should have had an early night but we couldn't face sleeping in the oven again so delayed it as much as possible.
Thailand has been great, a different culture from anything I have experienced before with amazing food and mental roads. I'd recommend a visit.
