Well it's 5.45am here and I've been up since 3am. I'm at the airport waiting for my flight down to LA. I'm so tired having only 3 hours sleep! Am quite looking forward to the flight though as I have an exit seat so may actually be able to get another 3 hours sleep this morning! My flight leaves at 7am. Thought I'd update about what I did the last couple of days.

Did I already write about Science World? Can't remember. Well it wasn't quite cool. Best bit was the OMNIMAX theatre. Huge dome shaped screen and I watched a film about the human bosy. It was great. The actually place is like loads of hands on activites for kids but I got to have a go at some stuff after I'd fought the kids away with a stick!

Yesterday I went over to Granville Island which used to be an industrial zone within the city but they changed it so now it's a big market selling fresh fruit, veg, meat and fish. There are also craft shops and speciality (or specialty as they insisit on spelling it over here) shops. I found a really nice notebook for only $24! Don't worry I didn't buy it! I wondered around for a while and bought some freshly squeezed apple juice. never have I drunk anything that looks so gross! It was brown and frothy! I also had a great slice of pizza. I got back to the other about 3pm and just chilled out. I packed my bags and then just read a book until midnight when I went to sleep!

Not sure what I'm going to do now. Thought I could use up some Canadian money on the internet but the stupid machine will only except CAD$1 coins otherwise it will only take US$ bills. It doesn't realise its in Canada! Although I've been though customs and immigration so I am in theory already in the States. Lost my penknife/multitool thingy to security as I changed my bag at the last minute and forgot to take it out. My backpack was overweight so I had to take the little backpack off the front, use that as carry on and also check in my red backpack. So I had to move stuff across and that just got left behind. b*****! They asked if I wanted to mail it home but I think it would cost more to mail than to buy a new one! The airport is really quite empty this morning but then I suppose my flight doesn't board for another 50 mins. Am looking forward to the LA weather, last time I checked it was to be 20 degrees C and sunny! Much better than 5 degrees or less and cloudy! I"m going to be boiling though as I'm wearing fleece jogging bottoms and two fleece jumpers as I couldn't get one of them in my luggage! I really am going to have to consider sending some stuff home! I'll think about it when I get to Oz. I really have got too much stuff! My big backpack weighed 56 pounds when I went to check it in. Luckily I could check 2 bags so I could split it. I'm sure I can do that for LA - Auckland but I don't know about Christchurch - Melbourne I'll have to check. Probably not! Will have to post home some things. Not sure what though!
