Got the bus to Rainbow Beach, staying at Frasers on Rainbow... full of geckos

Went for a guided walk to see sunset although got there the hevans opened. No suset just thick black cloud and so much rain. Got soaked right through, my blackberry died from getting so wet :(

Thursday 1st dec

Went for a walk around rainbow beach. quite a small place and its still raining on and off. Had the fraser island meeting at 2, as the 4x4 self drive trip begins tomorrow. Watched a safety video and got put in to our car groups.

Went to get the goon ( cheap wine) for the trip

Friday 2nd December

FRASER ISLAND!

Up early with one small bag ready to camp for 2 nights. had to check over all the food and equipment for our group.

Met Bretto, our guide for the trip, check cars over for any damage, and set off to the ferry to fraser island. Set up camp and had some lunch.

Drove lake mckenzie, Bretto stopped and picked up a sea snake that had been washed up on the beach to show us all then threw it back in the sea. The lake was beautiful despite it raining when we got there. I drove back to camp. Proper off road driving, scary but good driving on sand.

Chicken stirfry for tea, goon party, too much goon = Falling over alot &lost sun glasses

Wake up early, it was very windy outside, had some breakfast before a day of driving. so glad i did mine yesterday. Was taken to all the sights of the island, stopped for lunch, saw the shipwreck, saw a dead shark on the beach. Back to camp for spag bol.

Last day, went to a lake, walk of death 45 mins through the jungle, weather was better, so many flies big ,arch flies,

headed for the Ferry back, only 3 out of 6 bolts left on offside rear wheel of our car.

Driving on the road back to the 4x4 place axle blew, lost power no gears, stuck on side of the road, had to get rescued.

Got back to the hostel, was freaking out, I think 3 days of no phone and being with the same people constantly, to being back at the hostel alone with 40 plus notifications had a bad effect on me. Just did laundry, got some dinner and headed to the bar.
