Today we got up and checked out of the hostel at 8.30am. Then we got the free shuttle to the Greyhound pick up point. The bus was due at 9.15am but it came early which was good. We are heading to Townsville today and then catching a ferry across to Magnetic Island. The bus journey took around 4 hours and we arrived at the Breakwater ferry terminal at 1pm. We got our return tickets with sunferries which cost $25.00 and then had to wait until 2.15pm for the passenger ferry. It only took 20 minutes to get across to Magnetic Island. When we arrived into Nelly Bay we got a bus which cost $1.50 to our hostel - Base where we are staying for 4 nights. The hostel is really nice and located right on the beach. It also has a swimming pool. We were put into a 8 bed dorm room with a guy called Chris and a girl called Hannah. It cost us $93.00 for 4 nights but we should have got 3 nights free and the fourth night half price as we have the Aussie Specialist cards and the Explore New Zealand cards. We are trying to get a refund when head office have contacted reception. We were told when we had booked the hostel in advance that a full moon party was happening on Friday and thats the reason why we can't have the discount. However when we checked in it wasn't a full moon on Friday. Then Gina asked a classic question and wanted to know what the occasion was for a full moon party. I cracked up and couldn't stop laughing. Blonde moment lol. We went to the supermarket - Foodworks which was a 20 minute walk from the hostel. In the evening we had dinner at the bar and then entered the trivia night. We teamed up with some other people who were sitting at our table. There were many prizes to be won but our team didn't win anything. Good night though.
