We got up around 9am and went and did some laundry. There had been a fire in the laundry room of the hostel so we had to walk into town to use the laundrette. After this we got ready to be picked up at 1pm to go to Hells Gate Waiora Spa. It's Rotorua's only mud bath and spa complex. We had a walk around the geothermal field and then spent 20 minutes in the mud bath. After we had washed it all off in a cold shower (not good) we went in the spa. It was really good to relax but the whole place smelt so much. The sulphur dioxide gas created by the geothermal activity causes a very distinctive smell. Entry into the complex, mud bath and spa was free with our Explore New Zealand cards. This package usually costs $90.00. When we got back to the hostel our dorm room was full with people from the new Kiwi Experience bus. In the evening Gina and I went to Lava bar with some of the people from our dorm room and the Brisbane Rugby Team are staying at the hostel as well so some of them were out. We both said to each other that we weren't going to have a heavy night but it didn't turn out that way in the end. Mel from our hostel reception was out with her boyfriend. He was a typical kiwi and very good looking as well lol. The two portsmouth girls Charlotte and Kim who I had met in Los Angeles and again in the Base hostel in Auckland had caught us up on the Kiwi Experience and was also out in the bar tonight. They are staying in Rotorua for 3 nights whereas we are leaving tomorrow but I am sure we will see them again in the south island. When the bar closed I went back to the dorm room and went to sleep whereas Gina stayed out with three Kiwi guys and ended up going to a strip bar.
