Today we left the hostel and walked to the Pop Inn Cafe for 10.30am. We are picking up a Kiwi Experience bus here to take us to Milford Sound. The bus was coming from Queenstown and Gina was on it as she was doing Milford Sound as a day trip. It takes 2 hours to drive to where the cruise starts. On the way we stopped off several times to take photos of the scenic views and drove through the long Horner tunnel. We arrived ready to pick up the Red Boat cruise at 1.30pm. We enjoyed a free hot buffet lunch when we got on the boat. Then we enjoyed the 2 hour cruise of Milford Sound and saw gigantic waterfalls and Mitre Peak. The scenery was amazing and we were really lucky with the weather as it was really sunny. Other people had been on the cruise a few days before and the weather hadn't been very good so the scenery hadn't been very clear. On the cruise we stopped and got off at the Underwater Observatory. We got to see different kinds of fishes here. Then we rejoined another boat to take us back to the start of the cruise. The journey took 2 hours back to Te Anau where we stopped to pick up 1 person and then we travelled a further 2 hours back to Queenstown. It was such a long day and most of it was just travelling on the bus. I am staying at the Base hostel again for 3 nights. I got 50% off my stay here as they have changed the discount entitlement with the Explore New Zealand card. We arrived in Queenstown around 8pm and I have been put back in the same dorm room as Gina and 2 girls called Amanda and Racheal. We got ready to go out and met up with all the lads who we had left behind in Wellington - Graham, Pops, Shay, Rory, Andy, Mike, Jack, Raymand, Dave, Jack and James. It was really great to see them again. Gina had been out with them while I had been doing the bottom bus but this was the first time I had seen them again since they had arrived in Queenstown. We all went to Attitude bar and then onto another bar in town. I spent most of the evening with Graham catching up with him. We picked up where we had left off in Wellington. I was really pleased to see him again.
