Got up and went down for breakfast and then Kat and I got the bus to Pearl Harbour. It took about 1 hour and 10 minutes. We arrived at Peart Harbour around 12.30pm. You are not allowed to take your bags past a certain point so we had to put them in security lockers. We picked up our free tour tickets for 1.30pm. This is a 75 minute program consisting of a film about what happened at Pearl Harbour on 7th December 1941 and a boat trip to visit the USS Arizona Memorial. We were taken into the theatre to watch the 25 minute film. I felt quite sad watching the film. So many people lost their lives that day. They said around 1,200 lives were lost and many others had been injured. After the film we boarded the boat which took us to the memorial. Inside was a list of names of all the people that had died on 7th December 1941. The names covered the whole side of the wall. We were allowed 15 minutes in the memorial and then we were taken back in the boat. Kat and I got the bus back to the hostel and then we sat along Waikiki Beach to watch the sunset. It was amazing to watch. We both chilled out in the evening enjoying our last night with our dorm mates as we are both flying to Maui tomorrow.
