Left the Stay Hostel at 6.30am to walk to the pick up point for my bus to Las Vegas. I am on a World Discovery Plus Round the World ticket which means I can only fly on BA/QF flight numbers so I had to fly to Los Angeles and then bus it to Las Vegas instead of flying direct to Las Vegas from Miami. I will be returning to Los Angeles in a weeks time. I was looking out for the Bundu bus which STA Travel had prebooked for me but instead a Japanese company Sanyo Express turned up. I wasn't down on his list but after a few phone calls it was the bus that I was supposed to be on. As long as it was going to Las Vegas, that was all that mattered to me. By the time we picked other people up the journey took around 6 hours. We were given free bottled water and stopped off briefly for food on the way. Not much scenery to enjoy, just open land and mountains. We took the freeway all the way there. We were dropped off at Tropicana Hotel on the Vegas Strip. It was 2 blocks off the strip where I was staying Wild Wild West Casino Hotel. It took 20 minutes to walk there. There are loads of escalaters around to take you onto the walkway over the freeway. I found the hotel and have my own room again. It's really nice and has ensuite bathroom and TV. This hotel has a swimming pool but won't have time to use it. I went out to walk along the strip and also needed to find the America Best Value Inn as I am starting a 7 day tour tomorrow called California Highlights covering San Francisco and Los Angeles and all areas inbetween and this is where the pick up point is for the tour. It's a 30 minute walk from my hotel so will have to leave tomorrow early again to get there in time. Las Vegas is brillant and the buildings are amazing. After having a good look around I returned back to the hotel for a bit and then when it got dark walked the strip again as I wanted to see all the buildings lit up.
