Bus journey from Battambang to Bkk took about 7 hrs - we tarvelled much faster in thjailand than in cambodia - border was easy my passport is lookin pretty cool already! That day we went out for a meal near Kho San road - the backpacker place to be. The following day we checked out our hotel and looked for accomodation near kho San road area which we found ok - lonely planet books are sooooo good for this! I think we paid 2 quid for a night - we got what we payed for - basically a bed! but it weas clean enough so we made do- going to have to get used to this - forget about hygiene. That afternoon we booked travel to Kho TaO WHERE we planto scuba dive - its the second best place in the world to scuba dive, 2nd to Cairns! We got a bus and ferry ticket for about just under 10 quid - its overnight leaves bkk on fri at 6pm arriving in Kho Tao 10.30am the next day! Scuba diving intro course is about 150 quid icluding everything icluding discounted accomodation - really cheap compared to CAirns - 4 days. That night we went out in Kho San road this place is jam packed with people all the time. Lots of bars but the best ones are on the street where you can see evrything around you! Loads of kids with little tricks to get your money - Peanut wars - is one way - i like to play them and then when i lose think of some reason why i shouldn't pay - usually just that he has been cheating - seems affective and is really good fun! You have to barter for everything here, i have improved these skills no end! Seen a lot of lady boys - very funny and tuk tuk drivers are very amusing aswell.
