Siem Reap
Having flown from Phnom Penh we arrived at our hotel and it had a swimming ppool (our first chance of a sqwim!) So this is what we did - playing 'Marc Polo' with the other guys in our group. That night we went to a restaurant called 'red piano'whree Angelina Jolie went when filming Tomb Raider!
Next Day
Got up a the crack of dawn (actually a bit earlier) to see sun rise over the Ankor Wat temples - Awesome! I wish my camera was of better quality as the pictures dont look as good as it was. Once the sun had risen we walked around some of the temples before having brekkie. By the way this place is crawling with Koreans & Japs!!! Theyre everywhere! After breakfat we looked around more temples for an hour or so, some spectacular. After stopping for lunch we went to the tomb - where Tomb Raider waas shot. This was awesome, the way the trees grew through these buildings - This place was crawling with tourists - i couldn't get a shot without a korean person being in it! That night we went out in Siem Reap - soo many travellers it was iunbelievable. firstly we went to an 'all you can eat' restaurant for $3 - the only thing was u had to cook it yourself! After that we went to a bar where we decided to get a whiskey bucket each of it was only $4 - it was literally half a litre of Mekong Whiskey and a little bit of coke and red bull!About 6 of us did it - not one of us finished it. We went to another bar where the whiskey hit us - everything started spinning so we got a tuk tuk back to where we were staying.
Next day we looked round more temples - i had a bit of delhi belli! and swimming in our pool at the hotel.
Next day we travelled to Battambang - about a 4hr bumpy road journey away - roads are a joke in cambodia i was thrown from my seat many a time! Battambangis a small place - not very touristy - but we did get a motorbike trip to the countryside where we stopped at an NGO place, fish marlets, to see people male rice paper and we went on a bamboo train. bamboo train is literally bamboo on wheels (see pics!) petrol powered on a shanky train track. Vibrations weren't good!
