With rally painful legs and one swollen ankle, we set off from tatopani at 8 to start our 1300m ascent to chitre (sat at 2350m above sea level). The beginning is fairly gentle as we cross some of the bridges leaving tatopani. It then rather rapidly gets steeper, as we follow the old trail up the hillside. Within a couple of hours we had ascended around 500m. Crazy. Walking stick in hand we carry on upwards, mind definetly over matter to push ourselves up the hill...

We start early leaving from the quaint family lodge to start our continuous decent to tatopani. Walking through small villages and then mainly along the roadside, we followed the river most of the way. Luckily the rainfall the night before stopped the mass of dust. After a group discussion, we decided that one way we could get our trek back on track from missing a day, was to get a jeep back down to jomsom and to continue our hike from there. The terrain towards our new stop was to be gentle and reasonably flat, so the 20km we had ahead of us didn't sound to daunting. We started our hike out of jomsom around 10. Early rising, we start the day with a quick fuelling breafast at our yac donald hotel, in preperation for the big day ahead of us. Our target was muktinath, a small hilltop village known as a pilgramage destination for the temple high on it's hillside. So we start walking the long and dusty path upwards not really knowing what lay ahead. At our first stop we were sat on a plateau above the village of kagbeni. We all rise early at 5 to take our second attempt at a flight to Jomsom. The beautiful clear sky was opened up by a gorgeous sunrise over pokhara as we boarded our small tin can plane. As we took off the view through tr steamy window showed the pokhara houses getting smaller and smaller below us. The Annapurna peaks were so clear on our horizon, lining the views out of each window.
