Early rising, we start the day with a quick fuelling breafast at our yac donald hotel, in preperation for the big day ahead of us. Our target was muktinath, a small hilltop village known as a pilgramage destination for the temple high on it's hillside. So we start walking the long and dusty path upwards not really knowing what lay ahead. At our first stop we were sat on a plateau above the village of kagbeni. Already feeling like we had acheived quite a distance. We carried on up the winding roads using our buffs to protect us from the swirling dust. And stopped for a snack by a house in kingha. An apple has never tasted so good! Onwards and upwards we carry on up to jharkot where we stop for lunch. Along the way we follw small streams and weave through the growing amount of greenery. Trees with rich red and gold leaves decorate the landscape around, with small houses dotted amongst the fields along the hillside. When we reach jharkot my legs are knackered, we've climbed around 700m in altitude since the morning and my body was starting to feel it. A good hearty lunch if spring rolls and chips gets me ready for the final ascension to muktinath. A cruel last couple of hours we ascend the last 300m weaving up steep mountainside among the villages and streams until our lodge 'hotel dream home' finally comes into sight ahead of us. The last 50m were a killer but it felt soooo good to walk through the gate into muktinath, although exhausted, shattered and trying to adjust ourselves to the altitude, a massive sense of acheivement made me feel good. We stopped for an hour and sorted our things before visiting the sacred temple with it's water spouts, the pilgrimage site for many Buddhists. As the night drew in we headed back to the hotel fir a lye dinner and well swerved rest.
