After yet another lie in, we got up and had some breakfast, before reading for a bit in the campervan.
We decided that we should probably actually go and see the lake at some point, so we went for a walk. The lake is unbelievably blue - apparently it is due to sediment in the water which makes it cloudy and then it reflects the sky or something. We saw the Church of the Good Shepherd which is a tiny old church perched on the edge of the lake which looks so cute.
After our walk, we stopped at a lakeside cafe for a coffee and some lunch, but there had been a powercut in the whole town, so we couldn't actually have a hot drink. I had a cold quiche, which was actually really nice. After a while reading the cafe, we really wanted a hot drink, so we just went back to the campervan for a cup of tea at about 3pm.
We then spent the whole afternoon reading and watched TV in the campervan - we're really enjoying Masterchef New Zealand. It was the quarter finals and one of the contestants is an expat originally from London so we are backing her!
After Masterchef we put a bit of mascara on and went to find a bar, but the entire town seemed deserted (it wasn't even 10pm!). We eventually found a little Italian restaurant decorated in a strange ski chalet/American bar scheme. It had an open fire and there were about five other people in there (two of whom were playing board games). Hannah and I had a Pimms and lemonade, Sophie had a Corona and Vick had a red wine. We had a civilised drink for an hour before being kicked out as the bar was closing, so we just had to go to bed!
