We had to leave the campsite in Queenstown by 11am so we got up and showered, then filled the water etc. before going to park down the road so we could have a last walk around Queenstown.
We gave back the DVDs we had rented, used the internet for a bit and then had some lunch in the campervan before setting off for our next destination. Queenstown is really lovely, definitely one of my favourite places on the whole trip.
We have a few days left so we had planned to stop at a place called Twizel on our way to Lake Tekapo. On the way I accidentally took a 'scenic route' which took us to Wanaka, but it is actually a bit of a shortcut so we didn't lose any time, and the views were great. I carried on for a couple of hours to Twizel, but it had a bit of a creepy, end of the road feel to it so we decided to just carry on to Lake Tekapo.
By the time we got to Tekapo it was the evening, so we parked up in the village centre. I made some tomato rice for dinner, and we watched a couple of films which were on TV. The first one was 'William and Kate' - it is an American made film about the couple. It was absolutely terrible - the accents, the story - everything. It was very clear that the film was American, they had clearly done no research into anything, even calling university 'school' or 'college' but never actually university. It was cringey.
Afterwards we watched Muriel's Wedding - I was expecting a romcom but it was actually a slight weird drama slash comedy. I'm not sure if I liked it...
Our days are getting lazier and lazier I think!
