Back again!
I'll start with the weekend. After my girly night on Friday I went to sleep sometime after midnight. I woke up naturally around 7.30am, but as I had nothing to do I went back to sleep. I woke up again at 9 and did the same, and eventually decided to stay awake when I woke up again at around 11.30am. By this point I had had way too much sleep and ached all over and felt really groggy, so that was a bad idea.
I made a decision to do all of my Christmas shopping, so at 1pm I chose to get the 1.12pm bus. I was still in my pjs but managed to do a super quick change and make up and power walked to the bus stop in time to make it.
First of all I headed to the Disney Village, where there are lots of Disney shops. I grabbed a basket and just shopped...my bill was well over €100 but with my 30% discount it was €90 so I didn't feel too bad. I then got the train to Val D'Europe where I made use of my 10% discount in Sephora and got a few more presents and wrapping paper and stuff. I ended up spending €200, which I really shouldn't have done as that is at least a week in Thailand, so I feel quite guilty. It is nice buying presents for people though!
I got home, and was feeling quite ill. Every morning for the last week or so I have been bringing up blood from my throat, which I think is maybe related to my tonsil surgery in May, but I'm not sure. My throat was hurting and I still felt groggy from the morning, so I put on some Christmas music and wrapped all my pressies and wrote all the cards. I feel good now it's all done - I never usually get it done this early!
On Sunday I got up at 9am when I woke up this time, and spoke to Ed for a bit which was nice. My friend Nina came and knocked at the door because she was bored, so she came in and we had some pasta and watched Toy Story 3 and Cinderella. It was nice to have some company as I sometimes get really bored in my room on my own with no TV or books to read.
When Nina left I didn't do a lot, just sorted out my stuff for work the next day and watched YouTube vids in bed. It took me absolutely ages to fall asleep which was annoying.
Today (Mon) I had work at 10am. When I arrived they said I was White Rabbit and had to be ready for 10.30am, and then I was on parade. I haven't been repped (had rehearsals) for any dance parts or characters so I knew I'd have to be rope carrier or something, but it was quite exciting to actually do the parade for the first time. Anyway I put on my White Rabbit costume and waited for my ACC, who came and found me at about 10.40am and said we're not going yet. Then at 11.15am he said, you can put your head on the shelf (it was on my lap) because we're still not going. At 12pm he came to me and said...actually you're not going out so you're on lunch until parade (sign in for DOUD is at 3.15 so I had ages). I got changed and headed to Imaginations for lunch, and went to planning to ask for my Christmas days off to stay the same (23rd and 24th Dec, I'm coming home!).
I sat in the breakroom and watched Scrubs, but it was quite boring after a while and I was glad when 3.15pm came. I went to sign in where I found I was rope carrier, and went to cosmetology to get my make up kit. The lady in there was French and a bit rude and kept ignoring me but I eventually got it. I did my make up whilst a lady did my hair in French plaits, and then went to get my costume. It was white satin trousers, with a long green coat with red velvet trim (very Christmassy), white boots and a red top hat. I looked really funny. I got on the bus to step off (where the parade starts), I was sitting next to Wendy (from Peter Pan). I thought she looked a bit old to play Wendy, and then I heard her talking to Peter Pan and she has been playing Wendy for 10 years! It was just a few lines around her eyes which I'm sure nobody would see when she is in the parade, but Wendy is only supposed to be 12 years old. She has worked at loads of the Disney parks and on the Disney Cruiseline, and is going back to America (she's American) to work in the California park in January. She didn't actually tell me any of this but I was next to her so I heard her conversation with Peter Pan and an Elf!
It is chaos backstage, there must be loads of people in the parade. The music was really loud and made me feel happy so I forgot the cold, and just followed the parade slowly carrying a rope to stop people getting to the float. The guy next to me, a team leader I think, was constantly like, 'slow down, speed up, stop, be patient', but I think they are always like that. A few of my friends were watching the parade so they took some pics, I'll put them on here when I get them!
After work I headed home, and my roommate was putting up some Christmas decorations in our room so it looks quite festive now. I headed over to Katie and Lauren's, and Kelly and Fiona came too. We had spag bol and sang karaoke really loudly, to songs like Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and My Humps. Cheesy but fun! And it was nice to spend an evening somewhere else but my own room watching Family Guy online.
I have REP in the morning which is exciting, I'm not sure what it is for but I have a feeling it is for Winnie on DOUD, I shall let you know!
