The snow is back again! It's getting annoying now, although I wouldn't mind if it snowed on Christmas Eve when I am at home so I have an excuse to stay at home for Christmas. I'm off on the 23rd and 24th, and working Christmas Day, then I'm off on the 26th and 27th, so I kind of just want to miss one day of work and stay at home for five days over Christmas - that'd be amazing!
On Friday I started off a six day week, I was Chip in Park 2. I had to wear a cute Christmas outfit which was a white quilted satin coat with red furry trim, and a red scarf. It was quite a standard day with three sets before lunch and two sets after - it was meant to be three but the last one was 101ed because of the snow. I kept falling asleep between sets even though I had had plenty of sleep the night before!
After work I checked my planning as the official planning for New Year is up now. On New Year's Eve when my family are here I'm working from 3.30pm - midnight! And my day is SET, DOU, FTI, SET, SNC. (Which means character sets, Once Upon a Dream Parade, Fantillusion Parade, character sets, Stars and Cars Parade). Usually Stars and Cars is early in the afternoon but I guess it has been changed for New Year's Eve. It'll be a busy day but it'll be good because my family will be able to see me in the parades. Stars and Cars is down from 9.45pm - midnight, so I am hoping the parade is at or before 11pm so I might have a chance of getting changed afterwards and running into the park to meet my family for midnight, it'll be rubbish if I'm in EPC struggling to get out of Jessie's jeans when the new year begins! I'm off New Year's Day though so that's good J
On the way home some people mentioned they were going out, so I decided to join them as I didn't have work until 2.30pm on Saturday. Katie and I went to Auchan on the way home and bought some alcohol, and then came back to get ready. I decided to brave wearing heels in the snow. I went round to Katie and Lauren's to start drinking and paint my nails, and we ended up getting a bus into Disney at 10.34pm, it was snowing a lot so I was surprised it came. We went to the Sports Bar in the the Disney Village for a drink. Daniel Harding was there, he is the guy who casted us at the audition - it is kind of weird seeing him in a social setting! We then went over to Billy Bobs but it was kind of dead, probably because of the snow. We did have a bit of a dance but decided to head home quite early. I was lucky enough to get a lift from a French guy who works in the Disney Store in the Village, so me, two other girls from my formation and a guy from EPC called Tom all got door to door service.
The next morning I had a nice long lie in before heading to work for 2.30pm. I had a special event, so I went up to the special events office in Pocahontas building to see what I had to do, but they just said to meet in Studio B at 2.30pm. In Studio B we were told who we were going to be playing, and just told to get our kits and get on a bus at 3pm. I was Robin Hood, he doesn't usually go out anymore because his tail falls off, but the Prince had obviously requested him. There were also loads of other random characters like the Three Little Pigs, and Hewey, Louie and Dewey who had been shipped from Florida just for this event. We got a bus to the Newport Bay hotel where the event was. Most of the day was spent sitting around, although we did get a free buffet lunch which was good! We all had one 15 minute set, and then a grand finale at the end where they revealed a brand new character costume - Marie from the Aristocats. It was basically a sit down posh event with a bunch of the Prince's family and friends, and a huge conference rooms had been decorated as a Winter Wonderland so it did look really nice. There were TV cameras and loads of photographers so I'm going to keep an eye out on Google for the event and see if there are any good pictures! In the grand finale, we all had to come on stage and dance, and then go and mingle with the audience for about 15 minutes whilst 'Everybody Wants to be a Cat' was playing. There were more than 50 characters trying to dance around the tables, and there was fake snow coming from the ceiling. It was a really surreal but quite fun experience. Unfortunately there was real snow outside, and it seemed at first that we were going to have to get rooms in the hotel. I really needed to get back to EPC because my keys and handbag were there, and luckily there was a traffic heading there. None of my friends were going there, so I was with some people I didn't know that didn't live with me, and the traffic driver was saying that I would have to get a train to Val d and then walk to Pleiades - normally I wouldn't mind but it was nearly midnight and I was on my own so I was getting really worried and almost cried - it seemed unfair that we were kept at work longer than our shift, and then not even offered a way to get home. Luckily when I got to EPC I saw Joe from my formation who had been on a late Cafe Mickey shift, and was getting traffic to Pleiades, so I went with him - I was so relieved! I got in and went straight to bed, but it took ages to fall asleep.
I have another special event today for the Prince, and I start at 2.30pm again. Apparently the Prince has requested for the characters from yesterday to be in the Once Upon a Dream Parade today, so I think I may be playing Robin Hood again in the parade which will be fun. Hopefully somebody will be about to take some pictures. I'll know for sure when I get to work, so I'll let you know in my next update. I think I am going to have to walk to work today, about 4km, as the snow hasn't stopped and it is really deep now, so I better get ready!
3 sleeps until I come home!
