This was officially day one of my first day of training on a tour with Tucan. Sara and I went down to breakfast at about 8am to see if we could locate anyone who may have checked in early. We managed to locate three guests and have our breakfast. I had goulash, pancakes and chocolate cake….awesome combo I know.
Sara then set about orienting me with the metro and the city. We went to the church of Christ our Savior, which had brilliant golden turrets, there was also a statue of Tsar Alexander II out the front of the church. We then went for a walk around going past the Pushkin museum and then onto Red Square. We could already see the massive red structure that is the Kremlin from outside, but it was only when we got inside, that we could see the famed brightly coloured domes of St. Basil's cathedral. I actually squealed when I saw it.
After having a quick look around Red Square, we went into the big shopping centre called Gum and had a cup of tea and cake. I had three chocolates cake and it was amazing.
We then went back to the hotel to prepare for the pre-departure meeting which lasted about forty minutes. We then took the group out for dinner in the place we'd had tea earlier in the day. It was quite cheap and the food was really good.
After dinner we went back out into Red Square to see it all lit up at night, if I thought St Basil's look pretty during the day, it was amazing at night. It was so cold, the tips of my fingers were numb and my face ached from the cold. We got the metro back to the hotel and called it a night.

Mum Quite and amazing day. So you are doing a tour with Sarah, with clients for 3 weeks? Will you be going on the Trans-Mongolian with Sarah as well? Love all your photos.
