Finally, after what seemed like ages, we left Nairobi. We drove north through the Rift Valley stopping to take pictures along the way. At the photo stop I bought two Masai blankets, which will go very nicely with the spears I bought.
We continued on for about another hour until we got to Naivasha, we couldn't camp at the place Dragoman usually camp at, as they were hosting the Rift Valley music festival. We set up next door and we had a bit of free time to just hang around. I pulled out the pretty blue blanket I had bought and laid it under a tree and listened to the nice quiet music coming from the festival. It was blistfully peaceful and I fell asleep under the tree.
At 3pm we set off again up the road to Elsamere, the place where Joy Adamson and the lion Elsa had lived. We watched a video about the life of Elsa and then we were treated to high tea at the house. It was a wonderful experience, I had seen the movie Born Free as a kid and bawled my eyes out at the end of it.
After our trip to Elsamere, we went back to the campsite for dinner. The group on cooking made lentil burgers and I made numerous jokes about wrapping them in bacon.
After dinner we all went to bed as there was not much else to do. I had a head ache before going to bed and the now loud music and screaming from the music festival turned the night into my own personal hell. I awoke to some guy rapping in Swahili and then yelling about sunflowers!
