After waking up I got out of bed and sat in the kitchen, Juliette immediately offered me some oatmeal so I took that up in a heartbeat and after added an unhealthy amount of syrup polished off two bowls. I wanted an early start to the day so set off and headed down to the USS Midway which was docked in the harbour as I wanted to check out the ship super badly, I got there at about 10am as it opened and got my ticket fairly quick and hopped aboard, this aircraft was freaking huge! I walked all around the initial level and took heaps of photos, they had example engines, cluster bombs, rail guns, plus tons more! I then got to sit in a fighter jet and talked to a veteran who had over 2000 hours flight time in a similar plane back in the day, pretty cool old boy! I then went up to the flight deck and there was tons of fighter planes and helicopters which were all so incredible, you could get right up close to them and even could go inside some of the helicopters and jets, such a good experience, even the view from the flight deck was amazing, pretty envious of my grandad (besides the war part) of spending so much time on an aircraft carrier. I ventured to the lower levels which involved the mess hall, medical centre, engine rooms, bunks, church, plus all the captain and officers quarters, this thing had everything, even the laundry and patchwork rooms were huge! Genuinely had an incredible few hours on the boat. When I was done I sat down outside and tucked into lunch before heading back to the hostel and getting changed for my pick up ultimate game, got a trolly and a bus to the field and got there just as it was about to start, said hello to everyone and the game got underway. We played 3 games which were all really fun and pretty intense, I even got pretty lucky and one of the players Omar gave me a lift back to the hostel! When I got back I showered up and packed my gear and said a hearty goodbye to Juliette and then made my short walk to the trolly, I arrived at the transit centre with an hour or so to spare so passed the time with catching up with a few people via Facebook. I then got on the bus and was on route to LA where I'd get my transfer bus to Santa Cruz! The bus got to LA after about 2 hours and after a 30 minute wait I was on my next bus to Santa Cruz, it was an over night bus so I was in and out of sleep for a while but then eventually managed to doze off for the night!
