After a nice sleep in we packed up our ever growing luggage and shifted from our airport hotel to the flash Andaz hotel in West Hollywood...it is a very cool hotel (photos to follow in the next day or two). We had a fantastic taxi driver from the airport hotel..he was friendly and chatty ( a rarity it seems) and it actually felt like driving through the streets of Melbourne. After checking in via iPad (how cool is that) we had a quick rest and then we grabbed a taxi ($$$) to universal studios. We had a voucher so we had to get in one line to exchange that for tickets and then stand in another line to actually get in (did we mention it was rather hot!)... But after this the waiting time was pretty reasonable...which was a tad surprising. We first watched Shrek 4D which was pretty cool, we then went on the studio tour which was fantastic and very interactive, this included a 360 degrees 3D King Kong experience. We were very impressed with what we saw on the tour..including visiting whosville! After a quick hot dog we went to the special effects session which was very interesting...there was this guy who was pretending to be an inept worker..but he made the show...very funny. Then we saw the Blues Brothers show, which was a tad disappointing compared to the legends show which we saw earlier on...but the female singer was awesome. After this we checked out the animal actors session...wow they train these animals well, but more then that it is also an animal rescue service which is pretty impressive. They showed a diverse range of trained animals including mice, chooks, eagles, hamsters, dogs..and lots more! We then came back to the hotel and had a lovely meal at the hotel restaurant ...the steak really did melt in our mouths. Tomorrow we have an early start to head out to Disneyland..and our last full day of our trip.
