Get up and go for chicken and bacon baguette. The thunder from the last few days breaks to rain. It has become humid. We are in a cycle of eat, snorkel, drink and sleep. After the weekly disco it will be time to go. Not that I am complaining as it has been a holiday within my travels. I will never get tired of snorkelling watching marine life(LT).
We go back to hot stuff where the friendly tranny and superb chef greets us. I go for the only locsl dish - chicken adobo. (soy sauce with veg and chicken). As mentioned, Filipino food is mainly meat and although tasty, not as inspiring as its neighbours.
For a change we go to a bar called seven sins and surprisingly play pool. We meet Mai and a couple of Canadian guys we met before before heading to the disco.
It is an odd experience where the white man is king. I spoke to a local guy who said he didn't have a chance in there. A shame but western principles are alluring here. A chance at a better life. Speaking to Mai she tells me that she uses skin whitening lotion and her friend injects herself with some chemical to make her skin paler. Western magazines have a lot to answer for with a global principle that woman want to be like a cover girl from vogue. Something I find a little depressing considering the beauty of the Fillipinos. There is only so much of the nosebleed techno I can stand and we say our goodbyes before heading back to Pacidas.
