We have breakfast at the back of the hostel, sitting on the raised cushions watching the mountain vista. A pancake and coffee waking me up. We enquire about tubing which seems to be the main event in this town and head back for a nap to escape the baking heat. We grab our tubes and get on one of the organised tuk tuks. Since being in this town it is a war zone on one level, mainly due to tubing. People limping, bandaged legs and arms, pink eye from the dirty water so should prove interesting. Arriving at the first bar a grating American couple who lure people into drinking games and shots do their best to keep us there. After 10 minutes listening to the bar patrons we jump in our tube and start the drift down the river. Its not long before the first bar pops into site. A bottle on a rope is thrown into the water and I am pulled towards the bar. We head up and get a free shot and we order a beer. We sit for awhile and more people arrive. Speak to a girl from Montreal who like many came to the town for this event. We drift from bar to bar, 5 in total and its a slightly drunken ride down the shallow river. Almost too shallow at points but the mountains around the river makes it a great ride. The people we speak to on the river are all at various drunken levels but in good spirits.
We arrive at the exit around 6pm as it is starting to get dark. Probably 3 hours in total but a good day out with no injuries.
We head to Sakura for our free whiskey before returning to Jaidee's. We play pool with the English lads, Zach, an extremely friendly Indian who works at the bar and the local girl from last night who is ridiculously good at the game.
