I wander into town and grab a pizza from the Aussie bar. A little overpriced but I enjoy the mist spray from the roof and as it sits on the crossroads, its an excellent location to watch the town. Killing time before I go get my visa anyway. Arriving at the Embassy I approach the window with the form and after a few smiles backwards and forwards with the attendant, it's stamped and my visa is ready. I allow a few days to travel further north and get to the border. I sit down outside the hostel with David and he discusses some of the corruption in Laos. He had to pay 300 dollars to the police even though he has a visa, to continue his job. Sitting for awhile watching new people arrive, I talk more about the changes to South East Asia and the unfortunate rate at which it is moving towards the west. Enjoy the east while it lasts.
Some new people turn up at the hostel and once David has checked them in, we find a bar with a pool table.
A few of us head back to Davids room for a few drinks. A nice room and a perk from working at the hostel.
