G\'day Pommies (lol), Our first few days in Melbourne were spent exploring the sights of the city and St Kilda! St Kilda is about 20 mins from the city but is the place to be too party and meet people as its filled with cafes, resturants and bars! Its right on the beach as well which of course is a bonus and home to the infamous Luna Park! In the city we sat in Federation Square watching the world go by for a while - there is an amazing mix of people in Melbourne, Its very Cosmopolitian! We have mooched down Swanston Street (Melbournes answer to Oxford St) and did a little bit of window shopping! We have both bought new thongs.....pete bought a sexy black pair and i bought a girly pink pair. We have also wondered through Chinatown, chilled out in the Botanical Gardens and strolled along the Yarra river. Last Sunday we meet up with Lester and Erica for lunch and drinks on the beach which was lovely. We then spent sometime with them at their place in Bon Beach (about 30mins from Melbourne city). They have a gorgeous house which is only 2 mins walk from the beach. One night we were sitting out on the decking drinking beer (as you do) and we were joined by a local possum. So Cute! Pete thinks it looks likea big rat!! On the tuesday night we decided to sample the local delicacy - fish and chips! We walked along the beach and were caught in some typically english weather - RAIN! Although we have had mostly sunny days so far we\'ve have had every type of weather apart from snow!! All in all we really like this city....pete has scaringly called it home a few times! Tomorrow we head off on our tour of the Grampians and The Great Ocean Road. The search for Koala\'a begins! x
