So we are back on the raod again after our second farmstay. First stop Te anau and milford sound....amust see in NZ. We were really impressed with Te Anau......we thought it may be a nothing town, just the gateway to milford but no. It has NZ second largest lake and all the major walks of NZ start here......Routeburn etc. As the weather forecast for the next few days was a bit dodgy we decided to take a bus tour that was equipped with snow chains instead of driving ourselves. This decision was also based on the fact that on our way to Te Anau we hit black ice and went for a little spin......i screamed alot as we were on a side of a mountain at the time! Our tour to Milford was brillant......so many sights and so beautiful. We went to the Mirror Lakes...........gorgeous and throught the 1k tunnel through a mountain into the spectacular Cleddau Creek. This is where all the posh car companies come and do thier ads. Milford itself.......brillant, although the weather was abit dodgy. Check out the photos. Here we saw more wild pengiuns and seals.....u never really get sick of these sights you know. Everytime its magical.
