We went to the Joseph's market right off la Ramblas this morning. It was really cool with all the venders there selling every type of food imaginable. We got fresh fruit for breakfast and it was so nice to have fruit for the first time on our trip. No more need to worry about scurvy.
We then walked across town to go to Gaudi park, where there were more buildings and statues designed by Gaudi along with some great views of Barcelona. We spent most of the day walking around looking at everything. While we didn't have a siesta it has become pretty common for us to go back to our room and have a few relaxing drinks before going out for a late dinner, so that's what we did. We then went to a square where there were a lot of outdoor restaurants (this is very common for Europe) and had a typical Spanish meal of Paella and sangria. It was soo good! We then went home and packed because we had an early morning the next day to catch our train.
Fun fact: Christopher columbus( who the spaniards claim is Spanish) discovered lots of new land and because of that they built a monument for him in Barcelona. The intended for the monument to have him pointing towards the Americas, but messed up and instead it is pointing towards Africa. Columbus also brought syphilis to Spain.
