Day 65. After light rain overnight in Carnarvon, a day of amazing wildflowers as we headed south towards world heritage listed Shark Bay and the small coastal village of Denham. After lunch at Overlander Roadhouse on the North West Coastal Highway, we turned north again onto the bitumen Shark Bay Road. Day 64. Today we are doing a day trip north to Quobba Station and the Blowholes with Ross and Robyn. Arrived late morning just before the high tide at the Blowholes which were blowing full force with the incoming swell, such a noise, one rising over 20 metres. Beautiful rugged coastline with sharp brown coral cliffs as far as we could see up the coast. Day 63. Coffee at the cafe by the old 1 Mile Jetty before we hopped aboard the Coffee Train which took us out to sea on the old 1880's jetty. Looked a bit rickety in places, lots old timbers and loose or missing railings. Once a busy working port with wool, beef, salt, whale and fish and other supplies. Day 62. We had coffee at the local bakery before we departed beautiful Coral Bay. We have really enjoyed our couple of days here, especially the fine warm weather. Day 61. Early rise and a long walk/jog north along the beach at Coral Bay to the shark nursery and the giant sandhills. Hundreds of sharks will arrive in about 4 weeks and deliver their young into the shallow waters of the nursery.
