Day 14 & 15. Staying in small town of Timber Creek for 2 nights. A rest day and next day we drove 50k into the Gregory National Park to old Bullita Homestead on the East Baines River and back to Timber Creek. Bullita was once a working cattle station attached to the Humbert River Station. The old stockyards depict how cattle were mustered, sorted and transported during the boom period 1950-60 employing lots of aboriginal stockmen. Walked the old homestead, meat house, ringers quarters and kitchen. A lovely woman ranger talked about the history of Bullita and the relationship between whites and aborigines. Back in Timber Creek we visited the old police museum and then took the Victoria River Evening Cruise 35km down the river. What a magnificent river over 800km long. Stopped at the giant Boab tree with carvings dated 1855 by explorer Gregory. Saw large saltwater crocodiles lazing on the bank, freshwater crocodiles, the beautiful jabiru in flight, egrets, flocks of white corellas, wedge tail eagles and kite hawks. Snacks on board then a brilliant sunset over the Yambarran Range. A drink in the local pub and then early to bed as tomorrow we head down the Duncan Road towards Lake Argyle and Wolfe Creek Crater National Park.

Mark Good work boomer!
Raechel You seem to be doing a lot of sight seeing. I got a call from my sister, Lyn, on Wednesday. She and her husband Colin are coming over for a visit next weekend. I am really looking forward to it. We will be having a big dinner party on Saturday night with my boys
