Day 45. Lots of road trains passing during the night but we were snug in our tents hidden in the bush off the road with a warm little campfire. Day 44. We have seen almost nobody on these Corner Country roads for the past 2 days. Broke camp and headed 180km south on the Adventurers Way red dirt to Tibooburra. Road signs not good up here, thought we were lost and out came the GPS again. Used the sun as our guide, finally back on the Warrie Road to the border. Crossed into NSW by opening the Warrie Gate at the dog fence. Arrived into pretty little outback town of Tibooburra, refuelled and lunch of hamburg...

Day 2. Early start along red dirt roads stopping at Ivanhoe for morning tea and then a long section to old Menindee on the mighty Darling River for lunch. Bourke and Wills stayed here on their ill-fated trip north in the 1860s. The Menindee Lakes teeming with bird life. Lots of wild goats, emus and roos along the track which was in good dry condition but perilous and slippery after rain. Arrived Broken Hill in the Barrier Range mid afternoon, a balmy 22 degrees....

Day 1. Departed Canberra at 8.00am in the thick fog, stopping briefly at Murrumbateman and then onto Murrumburrah for morning tea. The country side just beautiful and green as we travelled further north and the daytime temperature climbed to over 18 degrees.
