Day 28. Prado serviced at Toyota Kununnurra so now we are onto Highway 1 east to the small town of Timber Creek, crossing back into the Northern Territory. Detoured into the Keep River National Park for a walk in the beautiful gorge - a mini Bungles - saw aboriginal rock paintings probably thousands of years old. Day 27. Up very early as we are going fishing for the big barramundi. Drove north of Kununnurra along the Weaber Plains Road about 80km to the big waterhole on the Keep River. Ord River Stage 2 development of irrigation channels, drains and roads well underway by Leighton contractors. Crossed the border into the Northern Territory, at once the road became rough and red. Down at the waterhole as soon as we started fishing noticed two big salties on the other bank....

Day 26. Up at the crack of dawn and down to the local airport to catch our Shoal Airways flight. Young Matt was our pilot of the little Cesna single engine and, although I was nervous at first, we soon took off to a cruising height of 3,500 metres and it suddenly became fantastic. Down over the expanse of blue Lake Argyle, across the big cattle stations of Lissadel and Texas Downs, then a double loop around the brilliantly coloured beehive domes of the Bungle Bun...

Day 25. A day driving around the Ord River irrigation crops. First, up to Toyota to book the Prado in for an oil change, new filters and a tyre rotation, then to the airport to check on our sightseeing flight over the Bungles tomorrow morning. Day 24. Today we must leave lovely Parry Lagoon and move east to Kununnurra, as after 6,000km we have then reached our halfway point of The Great Northern Adventure. It's been a great trip so far and lots more to come as we head east and then south. Checked into a beautiful shady campsite on the edge of Lake Kununnurra, only inches from the water.
